But now it can be used for various purposes. It is a computer aided design as well as drafting software with which we can create precise 2-D and 3-D drawings. AutoCAD was first introduced in the month of December in 1982 as a desktop app running on microcomputers with internal graphics controllers. It is used in industry by architects, civil engineers, graphic designers, city planners and many other professionals. Initially AutoCAD was derived from a program called Interact, which was written in a proprietary language. It was supported by 750 training centers worldwide in the year 1994. It is also used for tracking the number of orders completed in a required time span. It helps in assessing the cost of various products which aids in managing various activities. Its first release only use entities such as polygons, circles, lines, arcs, and text to construct complex objects. It is developed and marketed by Autodesk.
