Consideration of ESD principles should include the maintenance of biodiversity and ecological integrity. Similarly, the EPBC Act requires the Commonwealth Environment Minister to ensure the development of a recovery plan for nationally listed species and communities or plans prepared by others, including plans developed by government agencies.
